Protecting Your Pet from Harmful Parasites

Deworming Services

Prevention and treatment against parasites is a crucial aspect of maintaining your pet’s overall health and well-being. Internal and external parasites—such as fleas, ticks, mites, and intestinal worms—can cause a wide range of health issues in pets. These include skin irritation, hair loss, mange, digestive disturbances, diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and even serious systemic illnesses that can endanger your pet’s life if left untreated. Some parasitic infections can be especially dangerous in young, elderly, or immunocompromised animals. Moreover, several parasitic diseases are zoonotic, meaning they can be transmitted from animals to humans, which is why timely detection and treatment is essential not only for your pet’s health but for your family’s safety as well.

Deworming is a key preventive measure that helps protect your pet from internal parasites like roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and whipworms. Regular deworming ensures your pet remains active, maintains a healthy weight, and avoids nutrient deficiencies caused by parasitic infections. Puppies should typically receive their first deworming treatment at 2 to 3 weeks of age and continue with a regular schedule as advised by the vet, usually every 2–4 weeks until they are 12 weeks old. Kittens should begin deworming around the same age.
